The Acropolis Museum completes six years of life

Upon completion of the sixth year of operation, the Acropolis Museum begins a series of exhibitions with works from various Greek regions so important archaeological discoveries from remote Museums will come to Athens and be presented to mass Greek and foreign audiences.

On Saturday, June 20, the day of the Museum’s birthday, will be inaugurated the exhibition “Samothrace. The mysteries of the Great Gods “, which is a collaboration of the Museum of the Acropolis with the Antiquities Rodopi and Evros and specific to the antiquities of Samothrace, Mr. Dimitris Matsas.

 

The temporary exhibition will open to the public the same day, from 9 pm to midnight, and will continue until September 30 the opening hours of the Museum.

On the same day, at 9 pm, the Philharmonic Wind Orchestra and Choir of the Municipality of Athens will present in the courtyard of the museum concert entitled “Scent Old Athens” with melodies of interwar, cinema and Greek operetta. The birthday of the exhibition grounds and the restaurant of the Museum will remain open from 8 am to midnight and the entrance will be reduced (3 euros) for all.

On Sunday, June 21, at 10 am, will be held a scientific conference announcements from recent archaeological excavations at Samothrace.
